Ovatko kliseet kuluneita sanontoja vai vanhoja kunnon kuluneita sanontoja? Jos kirjoitat äikän esseetä, kliseet pistävät helpommin silmään ja osaat toivottavasti muotoilla asiasi freesimmin. Enkkua kirjoitettaessa sanomme kuitenkin, että paljon käytetty fraasikin on parempi kuin jos ei tule mitään tapaa mieleen ilmaista haluamasi asia. Kliseetkin ovat oikeaa enkkua ja mistäpä me bloody foreignereina tiedämme, mikä fraasi enkussa ylipäätään on muka jo kulunut. Kliseelistassa on siis kaltaisillemme vieraan kielen oppijoille hyviä Legoja moneen tarpeeseen. Vakiintuneilla sanonnoilla ei tietenkään kannata ratsastaa määrättömästi, sillä tulos voi olla tällainen yökötys.
